Kebabdrömmar, en kartläggning av stadsrummets återspeglingar av drömmar om mat, arbete, trygghet och samhörighet.
Kebab Dreams. A made up bird on an utopian paradise island, the words Pizza or Welcome, a picture of a kebab on a plate. This is some of the imagery and graphics you might encounter on the windows of fast food restaurants in Stockholm and other cities like it. In my project Kebab Dreams, I’ve been trying to map the city from the perspective of the fastfood culture: the way it reflects the past centuries of migratory waves, the way the fastfood culture serves as an agent of integration, how the restaurant presents itself to us by interior design, by graphic design, through the menues and the naming of the restaurants. And, not least, on the window as such.
